Jerry & Dawn Mortus - Parents of Caitlyn Mortus, founder of Keep Kids Connected. Jerry is the Director of Project Management for WECTEC, a subsidiary of Westinghouse. He received his Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin, a Master's degree in Management from Catholic University, and an MBA from Texas A&M Corpus Christi. He also served his country for 21 years in the Navy, retiring as a Lieutenant Commander in 2006. Dawn volunteers at her church as the Junior High Youth Coordinator and Stewardship Coordinator. She received her Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from the University of Connecticut. The couple has 4 grown children. Jared (wife, Jessica) earned his Bachelor's degree in Biochemistry from the University of Texas at Austin and is currently attending the Baylor School of Medicine in Houston, TX. Ashley (husband, Chris) earned her Bachelor's degree and MBA from Texas A&M Corpus Christi and currently resides in Greenville, TX. Caitlyn is a junior at the University of Texas at Tyler majoring in Nursing and plays forward for the women's soccer team. Zachary is a sophomore at the University of Texas at Tyler majoring in Marketing.
Geri Pacheco—Chief Financial Officer at Arch-Con Corporation, a commercial builder in Houston. In this role, she is responsible for all of Arch-Con’s accounting, financial reporting, and strategic growth activity. She oversees the company’s tax, treasury, external audit and legal functions, as well as human resource activity. A graduate of the University of Phoenix with over 20 years’ finance and administrative experience in small emerging businesses, Geri is a member of the Texas Society of CPA’s and participates in the Houston Chapter’s “CPAs Helping Schools” committee along with the “Make A Wish” HSCPA Golf Classic each year. Geri also volunteers in her community and is a past Board Member for a women’s domestic violence shelter. Geri is intimately familiar with childhood/teen cancer; her son, Michael, was diagnosed with a very aggressive form of leukemia the summer before his 13th birthday. After undergoing a life-saving bone marrow transplant in early 2007 at MD Anderson, Michael remains cancer-free today. Geri has three children – David, Amanda,and Michael. She lives in Houston, TX with her husband Christopher and their two dogs, Max and Nala.
Howard Guild—Chief Accounting Officer for Schlumberger Limited, a $40 billion oilfield services company. In this role, he oversees all of Schlumberger’s accounting and financial reporting. He works very closely with the company’s tax, treasury, internal audit, M&A and investor relations functions. Prior to joining Schlumberger in 2004, he was a senior manager with PricewaterhouseCoopers in New York. Howard is a graduate of Binghamton University and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Texas Society of CPAs. He lives in Katy, TX with his wife Krista, son Drew, and twin daughters Emma and Sarah.
Lowell Abrams—Commercial and Financial Services Specialist at All-Type Insurance & Financial Services, LLC, in Houston, TX. He works closely with business owners, individuals, and insurance underwriters to provide the best possible insurance value for his client's respective needs; ensuring their present day success, while providing for their future prosperity. Lowell was born and raised in New Jersey and is a graduate of Rutgers University. He has long been a supporter of philanthropic groups, including Chairing the Katy/West Houston Walk to End Alzheimer's. He currently heads the monthly, First-Friday Bingo Concessions fundraiser for Keep Kids Connected at St. Bartholomew the Apostle Catholic Church in Katy, TX. He lives in Katy with his wife, Mary.
